Last Reflection
By Chrissy Peters
As I saw the lights of the Toronto Airport I realized that I was soon to be home again. I was nervous and so excited at the same time.
When in Mexico I learned a lot about human rights, social justice, international development, Mexican culture and about myself. I learned I am a leader and a team member, I am decisive and strong.
I knew that I would be finishing my Developmental Service Work diploma in a couple months and that I was travelling into a new stage in my life. Instead of being scared about it I am thrilled that the lessons and adventures have helped me grow and encouraged me to take charge of the situations life holds ahead.
I learned a lot about the need to listen to people and help out friends that you care about and most of all to tell the people around you how much you care about them.
We take a lot of things for granted living in Canada, and I would love to continue these journeys to remember how strong, independent and lucky we are to be living in a 1st World Country.
